I ask that you please oppose the Graham-Cassidy bill and any legislation that threatens women's health, well-being and economic security. Instead of focusing on this last-ditch effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act, please work to stabilize the health insurance marketplace and make quality, affordable health insurance coverage available to all. This new repeal bill would be devastating for women and families for a number of reasons including: * Tens of millions of people would lose their insurance coverage; * Health coverage costs would skyrocket, including by ending the ACA's marketplace subsidies; * It would end Medicaid as we know it and repeal Medicaid expansion; * States could waive guarantees of coverage for maternity care and other essential health benefits; * States could also eliminate the ACA's protections that make coverage affordable for people with pre-existing health conditions; and * Millions of people would be blocked from getting preventive care -- including birth control and screenings for cancer and sexually transmitted infections -- at the Planned Parenthood health clinics they rely on for quality care. The health care community in your district, patient advocates and real people like myself don't want to see the ACA repealed and Medicaid undermined. Please oppose the Graham-Cassidy bill.
